TSA is a department within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and is responsible for the security of all transportation...bus, train, auto, truck, airplane, and ferry included.. They are also responsible for security for mass transit and the ports. This prohibited items list has recently been revised (12-2-10) but is not intended to be all-inclusive and is updated as necessary. To ensure travelers' security, Transportation Security Officers (TSOs) may determine that an item not on the Prohibited Items List is prohibited.
